The Bombala Open Tournament was the
highlight of the weekend with the Ladies
Day on Saturday.
Unfortunately the rain on Friday night
and early Saturday morning meant that
half the field pulled out.
When the rain ceased, the men quickly
drove round digging trenches to drain the
greens and we were able to commence
the day. What a beautiful day it turned
out to be!
The Ladies Champion for 2017 is
Machelle Grant who resides in Jindabyne
but is a member of the Bombala Club.
Machelle was very emotional with
her win. Ten years ago she celebrated
her 40th birthday by winning our Open
and was able to celebrate her 50th with
winning the Open on Saturday.
Well done Machelle and happy
birthday. Machelle was in the first group
and had to regroup when Bombala’s
Joy Douch came in with the same score
forcing a sudden death play off up the
10th. Congratulations Ladies.
