Just nine months after nbn trucks
first rolled in to town, 3,200 local
homes and businesses can now
experience the benefits of fast
broadband via services delivered over
the nbn access network.
They join approximately 1,266
premises on the outskirts of the
township which have been able to
take advantage of services delivered
over nbn’s Fixed Wireless technology
since 2015. Many premises in the
wider surroundings are eligible to
connect to nbn powered plans
through the Sky MusterTM satellite
service which has been available to
regional and remote Australians since
April last year.
Head of nbnTM local, Amber
“This is exciting news for Cooma as
it means that homes and businesses
are now able to connect to services
delivered over the nbn access
network through their preferred
phone or internet provider.”
“The community will join more than
6.5 million other premises across
Australia that are currently able
to enjoy the benefits of the nbnTM
network, with more than 1.9 million of
those in New South Wales.
“Access to fast broadband
is designed to provide a range
of benefits such as improved
opportunities to work from home,
better access to online education
tools and more options for on-
“Businesses will be able to
improve their productivity through
cloud based sharing with staff and
customers as well as have increased
opportunities to access new markets
“It’s vital that people understand
that switching to an nbn powered
plan is not automatic and they need
to contact their preferred provider to
place an order for their new internet
and phone services.”
People can find out whether they
